"UTOPIA, DECEIVED: A PROJECT ON PLANNED COMMUNITIES"
THE SCHOOL OF THE ART INSTITUTE OF CHICAGO 1926 EXHIBITION STUDIES SPACE
Through work in new media, including photography, video, sound, and the Internet, local artists critique the process and design of planned communities.
"Utopia, Deceived: A Project on Planned Communities" participants are Barbara Bergstrom, Ellen Campbell, Justin Goh, Frederico Gutierrez-Schott, Nicole Jaquis, Andy Kropa, Patrick Lichty, Duncan MacKenzie, Tom Michael, Vincent Michael, Roni Mocan, Trevor Paglen, Felicity Rich, Katherine Shaughnessy, and Melissa Urcan.
Coordinators of "Utopia, Deceived: A Project on Planned Communities" are Regan Grusy and Mery Palarea, who are master's candidates in the School's Arts Administration program.
The School of the Art Institute 1926 Exhibition Studies Space provides a forum for the development of innovative projects that explore the meanings of exhibitions, interpretation, and related activities.
