Embryonic Landscapes is a collection of embryonic forms and the spaces they create. The images are mostly from my own scientific work, but were composed for their aesthetic value over the last 15 years. This collection challenges current stereotypes of science and scientists and tends another path in the bridge between science and art. The Embryonic Landscapes book (ACTAR, barcelona, 2001) also includes 22 essays by writers, philosophers, painters, photographers and scientists, dealing with issues revolving around my photographs that include the reality of images, the similarities and disparities of art and science, the transition from realism to abstraction, and the biological basis of art among others.
